Abstract
- Trimethyltin(IV) chloride, triphenyltin(IV) chloride and tributyltin (IV) chloride adducts of piperazine (Pz), acridine (Acr), pyrrolidine (Pyrr), phenenthroline (phen) and 2,2'-bipyridyl (Bipy) have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, I. R. spectroscopy and conductivity measurements. The adducts have been found to have a 1:1 metal to ligand ratio and exhibit nonionic character in nitrobenzene or methanol. A trigonal bipyramidal geometry has been proposed for acridine, piperazine and pyrrolidine complexes while phenanthro-line and 2,2'-bipyridyl adducts seemed to have an octahedral geometry.
