Abstract
- The article discusses various ethical boundaries on an American lawyer's use of social media, focusing on the American Bar Association's Rules of Professional Conduct, the informal discovery process in the U.S., and prohibitions against fraud and deception. State and local bar associations in America are mentioned, along with the ethical aspects of communications with legally-represented parties using social networking services such as Twitter and Facebook. U.S. legal practices are examined.
