Opening Of 420-Foot Tall Coaster 'Tops' North American Coaster News For 2003.

The successful opening of the world's first roller coaster to top the 400-foot tall mark is the big news in North American coaster action so far in 2003. The list of the 19 coaster installations set forNorth America for 2003 includes two wooden coasters. Worldwide in 2003, there will be 53 coasters installed, including three woodies, down from 67 in 2002. One of the two North American woodies for 2003 is the Ozark Wildcat, built by Great Coasters Inc. at the new Celebration City theme park in Branson, Missouri.
