Abstract

The article discusses the Creek War in Mississippi between 1813-1814, focusing on the causes of the conflict between the U.S. and the Red Stick Creeks and events that occurred during the war. Other topics include the implications of the construction of the Federal Road for the Creeks, the role of Shawnee Indian Chief Tecumseh in forming a coalition against the U.S., and how the Creek War and the Treaty of Fort Jackson impacted the U.S including land acquisition and forced removal of natives.
