Abstract
- The article reports on research which was conducted to investigate the differences in the psychosocial experiences and reincarceration of older and younger adults with psychiatric issues who were involved in the criminal justice system. Researchers evaluated 80 subjects who were recruited from two U.S. mental health courts. They found that while older subjects experienced more treatment adherence and less probation violations than younger subjects, they are still at risk for substance use, housing instability and incarceration.
