Watching Government: Reconsidering OPEC.

The article discusses the issue of official production quota of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). As mentioned, the quota is affecting the production in OPEC regions as non-OPEC regions are producing petroleum in an increased amount and thus is able to fulfill global demand. Views of Jeff D. Colgan, assistant professor at the School of International Service of the American University, on the impact of OPEC on increased petroleum prices is presented.
