Abstract
- The article presents the study which examined the rangewide prey species composition of Reddish egrets during the breeding season, as well as the influence of color morphs and colony location on prey composition of the birds in Texas. In the study, chick regurgitate or bolus from the birds' nestlings in Texas, Baja California Sur, Yucatán, Mexico and the Bahamas were collected. Among the prey species are sheepshead minnow (Cyprinodon variegatus) and American shadow goby (Quietula y-cauda).
