Abstract
- The article focuses on the data from energy consultant firm Facts Global Energy (FGE) which shows the impact of the ordinance enacted by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in 2010 requiring refiners in the country to raise their mandatory cracking-to-crude distillation capacity ratio to the refining capacity of Japan. The study issued on May 21, 2014 reveals that the compliance to the ordinance reduced the refining capacity of the country to below four million b/d.
