Abstract
- The article discusses the Melbourne and Sydney Film Festivals and the history of film censorship in Australia. The author reflects on the efforts of festival director David Stratton to persuade the government to change laws and allow films such as "Woman of the Dunes" to be shown in their original form. Other topics include the banning of the film "I Love, You Love," the role of public protest, and the "R" classification of films.
