Abstract

The article presents research which analyzes the evolution of Québec's curriculum and the textbooks on its history from 1967 to 2012. Focus is given to French-Canadian historians inspired by the works of historians such as François-Xavier Garneau and Lionel Groulx who influenced the three curricula on history in secondary schools in 1967, 1982, and 2007 including the one on the history of Québec and Canada (2006). Topics of discussion include historians influenced by the modernist movement during the 1970s and 1980s, a quantitative analysis on the importance placed on the various periods of Québec's history, and an analysis on the historiographical approaches.
