El problema de las naciones y los nacionalismos en la óptica marxista de Eric Hobsbawm. Sus aportes y limitantes.

This article discusses the concept of the nation and nationalism from a Marxist philosophical perspective proposed by historian Eric Hobsbawm. The author comments on the history and historiography of the notion of nationalism and how Hobsbawm's ideas were influence by Marxist ideology. He considers the applicability of nationalism to the region of Latin America. He also examines the concept known as militant Marxism and its relation to nationalism. The importance to Hobsbawm of the interaction between philosophy and history is also explored.
