Abstract

As two major textile producers and exporters in the world, China and India have always received much attention on the global textile market. The paper first introduced the market share and trends of textile products made by these two competitors on the world market as well as three major export markets including EU, the United States and Japan, then analyzed their respective advantages and disadvantages in cotton price, labor productivity, production costs, cost of exchange rate, etc. and finally the author suggested improve international competitiveness of Chinese-made textiles by developing differential products, forging industrial clusters and strengthening technological innovation.
