Abstract
- The article discusses the ten major misconceptions about the Kaifeng Jews in China. These include the confusion between the Jews in China and Chinese Jews, the assumptions that these Jews came via the Silk Road, and that they were the first and the largest or only synagogue community in the country. Also included are misconceptions that male Jews began marrying Chinese women in the 17th century and that the Chinese Judaism ended after they took Chinese names and wore Chinese clothing.
