Abstract
- The article discusses two research efforts regarding the restoration on the slopes of Haleakala and at the Waikomi Preserve of the Nature Conservancy in east Maui in Hawaii. The research by Guy Hughes and colleagues suggests that the removal of feral pigs and goats are effective in promoting native habitat recovery. Art Medieros and colleagues suggest that multiphased approach to restoration helps conserve and restore tracts of dry forests.
