Abstract

The article looks at the effects of tadalafil on dopaminergic neurons of gerbils as part of its evaluation as a potential cerebral ischemia treatment. The study was performed on 40 adult Mongolian gerbils, where they were organized into groups provided with different dosages of the drug including 0.1, 1, and 10 milligrams per kilogram. Results that tadalafil reduced thyrosine hydroxylase expression and boosted dopamine D<subscript>2</subscript> receptor expression, enabling treatment of cerebral ischemia.
