Abstract
- The article presents a study which focused on strain characterization of Korean chronic wasting disease (CWD) isolates using clinical assessment, pathological analysis, biochemical analysis, and biological analysis. An overview of the CWD cases in North American deer, Rocky Mountain elk, and moose in Korea in 2001, 2004 and 2005 is presented. It discusses the findings which suggested that a single strain was responsible for the outbreaks in Korean CWD cases in 2001 and 2004.
