Abstract

The article presents a study that screened for antibodies against Murinae-rodents-associated and Soricidae-associated hantaviruses in rodents and shrews, captured in Vietnam between 2006 and 2009. Findings indicate that Seoul virus (SEOV) is distributed among Rattus norvegicus dwelling harbor and urban areas of Southern Vietnam and that Thottapalayam virus (TPMV) or an antigenically related virus is diffused among Asian house shrews, Suncus urinous, in Central Highland area of Vietnam.
