Abstract
- The article discusses a study which described the structure and logic of the bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) risk assessment method used for imported beef and beef offal in Japan. Topics discussed include the modifications made in the method, combination of the time-sequential risk level of live cattle and qualitative risk level of meat production and the risk-related factors of live cattle. Also mentioned is the periodic BSE risk status among the cattle population.
