The article discusses the International Snow Science Workshop (ISSW) at the Alpexpo exhibition and congress hall in Grenoble, France, from October 7-11, 2013, which regrouped international scientists and professionals from the fields of snow and avalanche science. The scientific and technical committee, including the French national meteorological service Météo-France, which organized the event and some of the sessions such as the one on the forecasting of avalanche danger are discussed.
