- Highlights: [•] Indian Ocean Tsunami resulted in loss of coastal vegetation in Nicobar Islands. [•] Natural recovery of coastal forest after tsunami was studied. [•] Disturbance in soil substratum had influenced the vegetation recovery. [•] Unaffected soil sites showed faster vegetation recovery than sand deposited sites.
