Abstract

The article discusses a study which describes the pathological and microbiological findings in ostriches, Struthio camelus, with mycobacterioris due to infection with Mycobacterium bovis and Mycobacterium avium complex. Information is provided on the methods used in the study. Results describe the histopathologic features of the tissue samples of lesions. The occurrence of avian tuberculosis and the implications of M. bovis in terms of zoonotic risk and transmission of infection are discussed.
