Abstract

The article discusses the Ontario Court of Appeal case R. vs. Kokopenace which deals with manslaughter. The appeal asserting that the appellant's rights under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms were violated, was allowed, holding that the 2008 jury roll in the District of Kenora was improperly constituted. The conviction was also set aside and a new trial was ordered.
