Abstract

The article discusses the results of a study that evaluated the use of performance and nutrition in juveniles of South American catfish, surubim, fed with diets of various levels of protein and energy. It noted the association between increasing energy levels and the rise in fat and decrease in protein whole-body composition. The adequate protein amount for performance and nutrient assimilation in surubim juveniles is provided.
