Abstract
- The article offers the author's insights on how to use data structures with the native record-level access of RPG computer program language for file input and output (I/O). He explores the reasons why one should employ data structures for file operations, and the new RPG features of IBM i 6.1 and 7.1 operating systems which requires data structures for file operations. He also discusses the techniques in employing data structures for file I/O.
