The Perioperative Magnet Journey at One Specialty Hospital.

The article reports on the objectives of and requirements for obtaining Magnet status at U.S. hospitals from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. A discussion of the work that the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City did to achieve Magnet status is examined. A survey which the infirmary conducted on its staff to investigate their understanding of and perceptions of Magnet status designation is discussed.
