Abstract
- The article narrates the story of Harry DeSmet Thompson, the 10th Mountain Divisions' oldest surviving muleskinners in Tamworth, New Hampshire. It says that Thompson curried mule packs bearing munitions and supplies in the Apennine Mountains of northern Italy during World War II. It notes that on August 18, 2011, Thompson was honored for his service to the nation with a coin and star letter fro Brigadier General Harry E. Miller, Junior, senior commander of Fort Drum, New York.
