Abstract

The article discusses the composition of the visible surface of the Moon. The Moon is defined as dotted by small volcanic domes that are more like hills and many broad flat maria formed by volcanic flooding that spilled across the low-lying basins on the Moon's face. The author reveals that the evolution of the Moon underwent a fundamental change after the first 750 millions years. The article also discusses the origin of lunar rocks and the moon's special features including rilles and graben.
