Abstract
- The article discusses the oligonucleotide synthesis of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA) and their analogues. It mentions that the discovery of phosphoramidite approach for DNA synthesis has been key to the development of several extremely important procedures used in biology, biochemistry and molecular biology. The article also observes that DNA synthesis strategy combined with other core procedures developed in the 1970s and 1980s have reinvigorated biological research.
