Abstract
- The Unity Summit, or Cumbre de la Unidad, of Latin American and Caribbean Countries, held in Cancun, Mexico, on February 22 and 23, 2010, claimed clearly to advance toward an organization that encompasses all Latin-American and Caribbean States not including the United States, which is an epoch -- making historical event, heralding that "the Latin American people will jointly create a new history". It is the United States' policies to maintain its own national interests on the behalf of the "common interest" within the existing Pan- American Union that cause the Union to face the economic, political and security vulnerabilities and crises, which lay a solid foundation for an united Latin American and Caribbean Union without the United States.
