Abstract

The article looks at the prevalence of personality disorders in older patients from data from the 2001-2002 U.S. National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions, also noting factors such as sociodemographics, mental and physical comorbidities, and disability. The results found personality disorders in 8.07 percent of subjects over 65 years old, with obsessive-compulsive disorders the most common occurrences. Other topics include quality of life, prevention, and treatment.
