Abstract
- The article focuses on a buffalo hunt by 50th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment's post surgeon John Vivian with Colonel John G. Clark and six other infantrymen, led by a Sioux near Fort Rice in Dakota Territory in 1865. It mentions that after traveling 10 miles on the third day they saw herd of buffalo which was chased by the hunters. It states that John Vivian's horse Charley got injured by the bullet in the hunt.
