(2132) Proposal to reject the name Cereus spinibarbis (Cactaceae).

In this article, the authors discuss a proposal to reject the scientific name Cereus spinibarbis. Cereus spinibarbis was based on a specimen of a columnar cactus which was 3.8 to five centimeter in diameter. The species Cereus spinibarbis seems to have disappeared from cultivation rapidly. Cereus spinibarbis is likely to be conspecific with either Cereus nigripilis or Cereus litoralis.
