The article informs that the European Union has proposed a two-year ban on the use of several neonicotinoid pesticides including imidacloprid, thiamethoxam and clothianidin as the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has identified risks associated with it to the bees. It informs that the Commission also wants to prohibit the sale and use of seeds treated with plant protection products containing these substances.
