Abstract
- The article presents the author's views on the transportation system of New York City which is plagued with traffic congestion. He states that several studies have found that small, low-cost changes are making several big streets in the city safer, improved businesses, and promoted healthier lifestyles. These changes include pedestrian islands, narrower car lanes, protected bike lanes, and wider sidewalks.
