Abstract

A biography of conservationist, lawyer, and museum official Chauncey Jerome Hamlin of Western New York is presented. Hamlin was born in 1881 in Buffalo, New York, and obtained his law degree from Buffalo Law School. His association with U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt led to his involvement in conservationist organizations, which in turn helped him establish Allegany State Park in New York. He also ran the Buffalo Museum of Science.
