Abstract

The article focuses on the British military presence in Normandy, France, during the first half of the 15<superscript>th</superscript> century. The author reports on the financial reports from the chambre des comptes to know the number of English garrisons in the region for the period of English rule. The author discusses the role played by John, Duke of Bedford, in the reorganization of the garrisons in 1434, and the financial difficulties faced by the British army. Different abstracts of documents found in London, Great Britain, are presented.
