Abstract

Abstract: Teaching quality of Maritime English affects the total quality of navigation education. However, it is influenced by many factors. In this study, by use of Delphi method and AHP method, a comprehensive evaluation model is built and teaching quality of Maritime English is assessed. After analyzing the calculated data, such conclusion can be drawn: comprehensive evaluation model could be used to assess maritime English teaching quality; teaching method, backwash effect of competency exam, connection with nautical practice, and practicability of textbooks are the most important factors that influence the teaching quality of Maritime English.
