Abstract

The article discusses a research study on very late and late drug-eluting stent (DES) malapposition through the use of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) volumetric analyses. Researchers observed changes in patients with DES-treated vascular segments who have acquired malapposition and plaque+media (P+M) external elastic membrane malapposition. Results showed 7.6% or 19 lesions identified with stent malapposition in 250 lesions at 6 months.
