Abstract

The article focuses on the learning from Major General Antonio Taguba's investigation on the pattern of abuse and degradation of Iraqi detainees at Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad, Iraq. It strives on the role of female perpetrators in sexual abuse and humiliation with an intention to soften up detainees for interrogation. It further reveals that the International Humatarian Law is developing towards the involvement of female offenders both as victims and agent in armed conflicts.
