Abstract
- The article discusses patentable subject matter in America in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in the case Mayo Collaborative Services v. Prometheus Laboratories Inc. which deals with patent eligibility and inventive concepts and applications under Section 101 of the nation's Patent Act. The physical application of the naturally-occurring legal principle in patent eligibility matters is addressed, along with a historical overview of patent protections in England.
