Abstract

The article describes the applications of mixed methods in biomedical and health services research and provides a concise overview of key principles to facilitate best practices. it defines the mixed-methods approaches and summarizes standards for the design and conduct of rigorous mixed-methods studies and highlights 4 central considerations in using these methods. It suggests that mixed-methods approaches can be valuable to biomedical and health services research efforts.
