Abstract

The article offers information on the estimation of snag carbon transfer rates by ecozone and lead species for forests in Canada. It states that dead trees and downed woody debris have substantial effect on the carbon budget of forest in Canada. It further mentions that appropriate calculation of the carbon transfer rates (CTRs) from snags to downed woody debris is important for carbon dynamics models in forests of the country.
