Abstract

The article discusses trends in France's clothing and textile industry, including information on textile consumption for the year 2012, with particular focus given to how electronic commerce now accounts for a greater share of total economic activity in the above sectors. Attention is also given to key events that have shaped the year, including the arrival of the foreign brands Forever 21, Marc O'Polo, and SuiteBlanco, and to comments by various figures including Georges Plassat of Vivarte.
