Abstract
- The article focuses on the function of the hometown radio stations during the year of World War II. It mentions five useful roles of radio stations during the emergency which includes keeping the public informed, encouraging civil defense, and participating in the war effort. It states that the substantial contribution of local radio stations was in the consistency of programs and campaigns by advocating national unity, developing community participation, and providing listeners with patriotism. It adds that radio industry has created a unique and effective style of programs to cope with the perceived needs of the people by giving all its resources.
