Abstract

The article discusses the importance of massage therapy and how it can be employed to improve balance and decrease blood pressure. A study was carried out which involved healthy, older men and women with an average age of about 63 years. The findings of the study showed that after an hour's massage, there was an increased stability witnessed in the group as regards maintaining an upright stance and a decrease in both, the systolic and diastolic blood pressure was observed.
