The article presents a study which analyzes the image of libraries and librarians in the French newspaper "Le Monde" and its supplements from 1999 to 2009 which includes a corpus of over 400 articles. Topics discussed include a study dedicated to the municipal library in Arles, France, an article focusing on the multimedia library (médiathèque) in Troyes, France, and articles dealing with the role of libraries in society.
