Abstract
- The author discusses the urgency of dealing with black rain or nuclear fallout associated with the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear disaster in Japan. He discloses his involvement in meteorological studies concerning possible link between atomic dust and climate change following the 1954 hydrogen bomb testing conducted by the U.S. on the Bikini Atoll. He explains the climatic event called nuclear winter which could lead to the destruction of ozone layer, adding that he previously presented a research paper about nuclear winter in Japan at the 1984 "Prevention of Nuclear War and a Total Ban on Nuclear Weapons" international forum. The health impact of black rain on individuals that have been exposed to it is also explored.
