Abstract
- The article discusses the history of fanga as a drum, rhythm and dance. Fanga, or the talking drum, is one of percussion instruments in traditional music in Liberia, West Africa. Sierra Leone-born Asadata Dafora Horton moved to New York and introduced the African dance called Fanga. Meanwhile, Babatunde Olatunji created fanga rhythms.
