Abstract

The article presents a study which attempts to characterize age-related patterns of gene expression in normal breast tissues in order to gain insights on the causes or origins of distinct breast cancer subtypes which surface from normal breast tissues. Tissue specimens from patients aged 14 to 70 years old with reduction mammoplasty were analyzed. The results of the study established a biologic connection between normal aging and age-related tumor aggressiveness.
