Abstract

The article presents a study which analyzed the connection between the BRAF mutation and the survival of patients in Western Washington State diagnosed between 1997 and 2007 with invasive colorectal cancer. The study revealed that the prevalence of BRAF mutations in colorectal cancer varies by patient and tumor characteristics. Depending on the factors considered in the study, the connection between BRAF status and colorectal cancer survival differed.
